Yes, The Birdlady of Easton is a real person, aka Mel Seip, who lives in Easton, PA.  For many years she has had her own birds and prior to August 2006 had worked at a local bird store.  Neighbors, friends and family began calling her The Birdlady and the moniker has stuck.

 

The need for a local, full service, avian pet supply store and her passion and love of birds prompted her to think about opening her bird store in the Easton area.  After a number of people expressed that they were now buying their supplies on-line (and paying high shipping charges), Mel started doing a lot of research and making more inquires.  Finally in June 2008 she decided to take the advice of her family and friends and share her abilities with birds by opening a UNIQUE specialty bird store - Birdlady Of Easton.

 

From the beginning her goal has been to provide not only well socialized and healthy hand-fed babies, but quality bird supplies (including ABBA, Island Treat, Kings etc) and personal service in a place where bird lovers as well as future bird lovers can come, relax and enjoy this beautiful creatures.   Bring the whole family and see why she believes birds make the best pets!
